On Saturday, the Houston Chronicle ran a story on the front page about the ending of the Brigadiers. Lynda Barr read the whole story to us. There was a follow up article by a former Brigadier that ran on July 24th. We are going to put both of these stories on the website so you can read them.
Comments that Doris Edwards sent to me:
Kay,
After the Houston Chronicle article Lynda read Sat. night, I couldn't believe it when I saw the follow-up article in the Viewpoints section of Houston Chronicle today.
You know these articles really say something about our class and how we felt about other people. We didn't seem to put people into classes.

Comments from Mary Sue Wilson
Dearest Kay,
Thank you soooooo much for a wonderful reunion, which has taken on a whole new meaning in light of our e-mail communication.
Thanks, Mary Sue
Comments from Linda Land
Kay,
Lynda and Lucy along with their spouses made me feel like
I was being entertained in their home.
Thanks, Linda
There were 38 people at the Friday night party and 50 people at the Saturday night gathering. We all agreed that we had had so much fun just looking at scrapbooks and old pictures and talking and laughing and catching up on events in our lives that we think next year we will have 75-100 because more people will not want to miss the great event.
On Saturday, the Baytown Historical Museum tour was really enjoyable. We had fifteen people on the tour with a very good docent, who gave us a lot of historical background before we looked at the different rooms of exhibits.
We all agreed that we lived in a very special time and we were and are a very special group of people.
For those of you who could not make it, I want you to know that several people put together a thank you gift to me that was a total surprise. I really do appreciate it and thank you so much for it. It was a basket of CDs – oldies, 50s, memories.
As I have said before, it has been a true labor of love. It is now organized so that Keith and I can stay on top of the notes and have them posted on a weekly basis.
Your job is the keep this notes coming. I hope that the reunion and seeing people will help spur more of you to share your story. Remember what Jan Ellen Kersh told us, if you are alive today, you have had an exciting life.
Your friend, Kay Morrow Wright
