Lee Note 83 Doris Edwards Memories Followup July 12, 2001

Hi Kay,

I have been reading all these memories for weeks now. I think I triggered something with Mr. Wedgeworth. But I am glad to see that many other people have horrible memories of him as I do. He is the reason I don't know more about math today than I do, and the reason I never went beyond Algebra 2.

He's probably the reason I never took any more math. As a teacher for 31 yrs. I certainly hope I left a better impression on my students than some of my teachers did. I know I did on many of them because they have come back and told me so.

I remember some of the stories about "Lady Jane Mitcham." She was a tough one, I remember, but I really learned a lot of English grammar and literature from her. I believe she is the one who really made me love grammar and language.

Kay, you are doing a wonderful job. I marvel at the number of our classmates you have found, and I love to read their memories. I'm hearing names of people I haven't thought of for years and remembering them from high school.

Hope there will be lots of people there Friday night that weren't at the big reunion last year. I'd like to see a lot more people that we missed.
