Lee Note 7 Jerrold Pesz March 27, 2001

Kay,

Although new to your list I can see that you are putting a lot of time and effort into this.

Just reading the list of email addresses brings back a lot of memories. When I read a name I remember the person as I last saw them. I will bet that I would not recognize most now. It is hard to believe that we graduated over forty years ago. I don't feel that old. Of course it is also hard for me to realize that my daughter is approaching thirty. I used to think that people who were thirty were "old." I still think of her as my little girl. Of course my parents who are in their eighties seem to look at me the same way and I am 58.

I left Baytown in 1962 after I graduated from Lee College and have not seen most from there since but I have often wondered about the friends that I had way back then. I was never aware of reunions so I have seen no one since.

After leaving Baytown I spent two years in Beaumont at Lamar where I got my B.S. and another two years at the University of Houston in graduate school. After that I was drafted and spent a few years with Uncle Sam ending up as a Drill Sergeant at Ft. Jackson, S.C.

After leaving the Army (a mistake), I was first sales manager and then general manager of a wholesale building materials company in Houston. After this, I was a 50% owner of an auto parts and service company for over ten years. I left Houston in 1987 when the economy went down the drain and went to work for Toyota as a parts department manager.

In 1993, after a "re-organization" I ended up unemployed and decided to move to Tennessee where my family lived.

Since I had been in and out of law enforcement since 1971 as a part timer and liked it I decided to go with that. Unfortunately, cops don't make much money so for the last few years I have been night supervisor for a contract patrol company. We do the same things as the local police but only for those who pay us. (We are Not "Security Guards".)

I am really glad to hear from you and appreciate your efforts. I am really interested in all information about our classmates even if it does make me feel old!

If there is anyone doing this for the classes below us I would also like to know. I am curious about several in later classes.

Thanks,

Jerrold Pesz
