Lee Note 60 Math Memories and Praise June 18, 2001

Comments about math teachers.

From Phyllis Busby:

Did anyone of you reading these notes love Mrs. Plagens. I could hardly wait to get out of her class myself. But I don't know if it was her or just that I couldn't do algebra either.

Something makes me think that some of these teachers were not so great. Well, Carla, you weren't the only one having the nightmare then!

From Jim Herring at the Dallas dinner:

Mr. Wedgeworth had a script that he used every day and every year. If you asked a question that was outside the scope of the script for the day, it just did not get answered. This also raised some questions in our minds now as to how good this teaching was.

And for the positive side of our memories:

From Jon Pfennig:

I saw Evelyn Robson at the Goose Creek Country Club last Friday night and told her of all the kind words her former students had for her.

She said to send her Greetings to all her former students. I assured her that many of us passed Plane Geometry only because we transferred into her class.
