Lee Note 49 Marilyn Ash June 5, 2001

Dear Lee Friends,

I have great news; I have just become a grandmother again. My youngest daughter, Sarentha, gave birth to a precious little boy on Sunday, May 27. His name is Timothy Robert and they live in Cedar Hill. Timothy has a big sister, Audry, who is 2 1/2 years old.

Just nine months ago my middle daughter, Eve, gave birth to a little boy, Matthew. They live in the Atlanta area. I visit him as much as possible and he is coming to see me soon. These little ones are such a blessing and it is fun to watch my girls become mothers. I feel an extension of myself is being born and that part of me is continuing in time.

Having Grandbabies has been the greatest joy in my life these last few years. I agree with all the other grandparents, these little ones are a delight and a gift from God.

With the new addition, this makes four grandchildren. I have a step-grandson, Jake, who is 13 years old and lives in the Washington, D.C. area. He visits in the summer here in Dallas. I moved back to Dallas about 11 years ago after living in Corpus Christi for two years. This is home now for me and my children.

In addition to watching grandchildren grow and doing volunteer work, I do a lot of traveling. I hope to see most of the world before I get too old. In October I will be traveling to Bangkok, Thailand for two weeks for a meeting and tour. Then in January and February 2002, I plan to go on an Elderhostal to the islands of St. Croix and St. John for an educational tour. In June 2002, I will take my grandson, Jake, and oldest daughter, Ranelle, to Scotland for our trip together. We have planned this trip for several years. Still working on the rest of the year.

I will not be able to attend the mini-reunion in July due to family events. Sorry I will not get to see all the gang again this year. I have enjoyed reading the booklet from last year and all the emails from our classmates. Hope to see some of you again someday.
