Lee Note 21 Bob Roush April 12, 2001

Kay

What a marvelous thing you, Lynda, and Linda are doing. I think this is just splendid. And thanks for finding my biopage at

http://hcoa.org/staff/robert_roush.htm.

I'll add a note or two here: Carole (King, REL Class of '63) and I will have been married 36 years this May 29. We have two children --Jonathan, age 31, a UT/UH grad, who works in the Internet business in Austin and is living the good life on Lake Travis; and Stephanie, age 26, who is living the good life in Laguna Beach, California. So far Jonathan has given us a grand cat; Stephanie will give us our first grandchild this June -- a little girl. Needless to say, we're excited and plan to keep the "road hot" to California.

I remain very busy traveling for my job at Baylor College of Medicine: just presented three papers at the American Society of Aging's national meeting this past month in New Orleans, and will present two papers at the World Congress of Gerontology in Vancouver, BC, this July.

In my volunteer work, I remain busy, too: just finished a three-year term as President of the National Association of Geriatrics Education Centers, which took me to Washington, D.C., frequently. And I was recently elected president of my college fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, which takes me on the road about two weekends a month visiting our chapters' special occasions.

It's fun meeting all the young men and our wonderful alumni all across America who spend so much time presenting our young brothers with opportunities to lead lives of excellence. We're the number one fraternity in the Greek World in grades with almost a 3.0 GPA across 126 chapters and 7000 undergraduates.

I also believe we have the top personal development programs in dealing with contemporary campus life, and our Leadership Academy is comprised of some of the truly finest young men in America who will, no doubt, become future leaders of our schools, hospitals, corporations, communities, the arts, and legislative bodies. Sorry for the bragging.

Again, thanks for presenting members of REL Class '60 the opportunity to network via the Internet. I look forward to seeing you and many others soon; if not, at least we can have e-reunions like this.

Cordially, Bob Roush
