Lee Note 188 Bob Roush, Volunteer Work August 20, 2002

Regarding volunteer work, I just finished 18 years of volunteer service to my fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, having served on the Arch Chapter since 1985 and as International President from 2000-2002, concluding at a banquet at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles this past Saturday evening.

Attached is a photo of my family -- left to right, Carole, my wife of 37 years (REL Class of 1963); my son-in-law, James Shaffer; our daughter, Stephanie Shaffer; and our son, Jonathan. It was fun having them there.

Our 6000 undergraduate members in 120 chapters attend leadership training, alcohol abuse prevention programs, have the highest GPA of any large men's Greek fraternity at 3.1, and donate more hours of community service and money to our educational foundation than do their counterparts. This is made possible by hundreds of alumni volunteers that believe, as I do, that what we do or don't do with America's youth has a lot to do with the future of our country.

Now I'll do something in the community.
