Lee Note 115 Larry Shelton In Peru December 4, 2001

Kay,

Just to let everyone know I have more or less transferred permanently here to northern Perú. I have sold the half of my business in the USA, which did the purchasing and shipping, and am concentrating on the sales and local delivery to the local clients.

It's a lot like a step toward retirement, for I do a lot less of the physical work, do a lot of reading, zero TV (I get my news from the internet when I feel like taking the time), have learned to balance my life with things I HAVE to do to be a bit more comfortable and things I just want to do.

The ship just arrived with my fishing gear, so I will spend some of the time on the Pacific coast down where Hemmingway did his writing, at Cabo Blanco. We have an food entree here called cebiche which is raw fish, squid, shrimp, octopus cooked in lime juice with a lot of purple onion, giant grained corn, with a piece of sweet potato on the side.

A large platter is about $1.00. Toss in a beer or two and you can really sit back and enjoy the sunrise - or sunset- in luxury, of a sort. I know those particular foods do not sound too great fixed that way, but when you try it, it gets to you and it becomes the food of choice, in a place where fried or broiled fresh fish is really good, too.

But enough of that. Suffice it to say, I can HEAR my Blood Pressure dropping. And I am beginning to notice my belt has a few more holes in it than I realized previously.

Ciao!

Lawrence Shelton
